Baseball Recap: Cameron County Takes a Loss

Cameron County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brockway Rovers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ryan Shaffer put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Taylon Tucker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aaric Mason, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Cameron County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Brockway, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

As of now, neither Cameron County nor the Rovers have any future games scheduled.
