League recap: Hagy dominating on the mound for Rider

4A Region I District 5 league recap: 5/30/13

Rider's Austin Hagy was the best pitcher in 4A Region I District 5 this week. He picked up six wins and 57 strikeouts.

Mason Stone was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .593 average, two home runs and four RBIs. The Raiders went 3-1.

Rider's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 41 hits and 15 walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Raiders' 74 hits this week were the most in the league, adding to their season total of 303, best of any team.

Rider's Hagy struck out 57 batters over the past week, bringing his league-leading season total to 126.



David Pewenofkit clubbed zero home runs this week to lead the league. He ranks second in the league with six on the year.

Jordan Mcquerry threw a shutout as he led Rider to victory over Canyon, 1-0, on Saturday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up four hits.
