Preview: Booneville Bearcats vs. Prescott Curley Wolves
The Booneville Bearcats will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Prescott Curley Wolves at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in Booneville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches.
Booneville extended their postseason success on Friday against Glen Rose. They came out on top against the Beavers by a score of 34-25. Booneville's victory was all the more impressive since Glen Rose was averaging only 13.07 points allowed on the season.
Meanwhile, Prescott came tearing into Friday's contest with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Mansfield with a sharp 28-7 victory. Prescott might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prescott to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pierce Yates, who rushed for 17 yards and two touchdowns. Dwayne White did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 143 receiving yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 12-2.
Booneville came out on top in a nail-biter against Prescott in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, sneaking past 34-31. Does Booneville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Prescott turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
