Softball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Atlantic Shores Christian can now relate to. They lost 14-0 to the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost five in a row.

Atlantic Shores Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Carter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Layla Berry also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Atlantic Shores Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Atlantic Shores Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, they will face off against Cape Henry Collegiate at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
