Coronado waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 43-34 victory over the El Dorado Aztecs. That's more bragging rights for the Thunderbirds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, El Dorado had strong showings from Jacob Villalobos, who posted 12 points, and Adrian Rodriguez, who earned eight points.

Coronado's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for El Dorado, they moved to 10-11 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will head out to challenge Eastwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Dorado, they will venture away from home to take on Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado is facing Parkland at the right time seeing as Parkland is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
