Baseball Recap: Southeast Seminoles vs. Palmetto Tigers

Southeast extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-13. They lost 10-0 to the Palmetto Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

As for Palmetto, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.

For Palmetto's part, Hunter Hoyle tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Hoyle a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Blake Willis and Ethan Arrington did most of the damage at the plate: Willis got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Arrington got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most stolen bases Willis has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Aitken, who earned one RBI and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast will host Archbishop Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Seminoles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for Palmetto, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Parrish Community at 6:00 p.m.
