Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Lincoln). They never let the Newton-Conover Red Devils get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. The Rebels have beaten the Red Devils the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Devils has come to flipping the script.
Danilyn Lewis made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. That hit was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Abree Sutton was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Carpenter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
