Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Lincoln). They never let the Newton-Conover Red Devils get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Friday. The Rebels have beaten the Red Devils the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Devils has come to flipping the script.

Danilyn Lewis made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. That hit was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Abree Sutton was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Carpenter was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

West Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

West Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Newton-Conover, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

West Lincoln and Newton-Conover could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Rebels (ranked 121st) will meet West Caldwell (ranked 26th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Newton-Conover will face off against Bandys at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (397 vs. 104).
