Softball Recap: Clovis North Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clovis North can now relate to. They fell just short of the Whitney Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Broncos' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Jocelynn Gonzalez spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Clovis North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Kniss, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Clovis North's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6-2. As for Whitney, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Clovis North does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Whitney, they will face off against Oak Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
