Recap: Wellsville-Middletown Tigers vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds

After a string of three wins, the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-50 to North Callaway. Wellsville-Middletown has not had much luck with the Thunderbirds recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Riley Blevins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Callaway, shooting 5-for-7 from long range and almost dropping a triple-double on 21 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists. Blevins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. Lakyn Hartley was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Wellsville-Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for North Callaway, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Wellsville-Middletown will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Callaway is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Oakleigh Hill and Blevins.
