Baseball Recap: Selma Takes a Loss

Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-6 to the JAG Jaguars. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Samarion Woods was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for JAG, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Selma and JAG could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Selma (ranked 371st) will meet Demopolis (ranked 79th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, JAG will square off against Enterprise at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 274 places (277 vs. 3).
