Softball Recap: Happy Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contest, Happy Valley brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Everything went their way against the Tri-Cities Christian Eagles on Thursday as they made off with a 16-3 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Trinity Bowers made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Moore, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Addi Moore, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Happy Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Happy Valley picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Tri-Cities Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Happy Valley will welcome Hampton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.92 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tri-Cities Christian, they will head out to face off against Chuckey-Doak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
