Baseball Recap: Kents Hill School Find Success

The Kents Hill School Huskies narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Maranacook Black Bears 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Ben Hugessen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hugessen was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Noah Kline looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Hugessen wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mathis Moreau, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Kents Hill School's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kents Hill School will host Freeport at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Maranacook, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain Valley at 11:00 a.m. on the 23rd. The game will give the Black Bears their first taste of in-conference action this season.
