Village Tech is a perfect 9-0 against Madison since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Viper Squid will venture away from home to take on the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Village Tech has three straight victories, Madison has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Village Tech will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Trinity Leadership, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Viper Squid narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 9-8.

Matthew Sotelo made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Angel Ontiveros and Preston Ross did most of the damage at the plate: Ontiveros went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Ross got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most runs Ontiveros has posted since back in February. Noah Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Village Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Madison lost 18-3 to Keene on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Village Tech, their record is now 3-12.

Village Tech got the 'W' when the teams last played on Friday against Madison by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Viper Squid since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
