Basketball Game Preview: Cairo Syrupmakers vs. Brooks County Trojans

Having just played yesterday, the Cairo Syrupmakers will get right back to it and host the Brooks County Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cairo, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Brooks County's (thus far) undefeated season.

Cairo is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Thomasville on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cairo had to suffer through a 60-25 loss at the hands of Thomasville. The Syrupmakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-11.

Meanwhile, Brooks County strolled past Berrien with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 41-25.

Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Brooks County, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Cairo's way against Brooks County in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, as Cairo made off with a 63-37 victory. Will Cairo repeat their success, or does Brooks County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
