Softball Recap: South Bronx Community Extends Winning Streak to Eight

South Bronx Community put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 19-8 victory. That's the fifth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 20-16 victory last Saturday.

South Bronx Community got a massive performance out of Clara Rosario, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Rosario is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Santos-Pe?a, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

South Bronx Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .964. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

South Bronx Community's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

South Bronx Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge Delaware County Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
