Baseball Game Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Morgan Trojans

The Timpanogos Timberwolves will challenge the Morgan Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Timpanogos 3.2, Morgan 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Timpanogos' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Fremont 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Canyon Clegg's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Timpanogos' win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hall, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Morgan came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Wolverines as they made off with a 23-2 victory. The match marked the Trojans' most dominant win of the season so far.

Camron Talbot was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Tyson Talbot was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanyon Leonelli, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Morgan's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Timpanogos, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
