Preview: North Moore Mustangs vs. Cummings Cavaliers

North Moore is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Cummings an 11-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The North Moore Mustangs will take on the Cummings Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Moore focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday.

North Moore scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They skirted past Graham 55-53. The victory was just what North Moore needed coming off of a 59-8 defeat in their prior matchup.

North Moore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zeikierra Young, who scored 28 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Calissa Clendenin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cummings had to suffer through a rough 57-17 loss at the hands of Northwood. While losing is never fun, Cummings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Northwood is ranked 85th).

North Moore's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Cummings, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.

North Moore was able to grind out a solid win over Cummings in their previous matchup back in January, winning 44-36. Does North Moore have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cummings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
