Baseball Recap: Ashley Beats South Brunswick for Their Third Straight Victory

Ashley proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the South Brunswick Cougars 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Screaming Eagle sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ashley got a great performance from Colin Beddard as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Beddard has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Potter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Ashley's record is now 19-4. As for South Brunswick, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Ashley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against North Brunswick on the 1st. As for South Brunswick, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 loss against West Brunswick on the 1st.
