Softball Recap: Brazos Cougars vs. Hempstead Bobcats
Brazos made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hempstead, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Brazos was the clear victor by an 11-2 margin over Hempstead on Monday. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.
Ava Aguilar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. In other batting news, Kendall Macha was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (three).
