Volleyball Recap: Point Loma Takes a Loss

Point Loma was the 3-0 winner over Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pointers came up short against the Patriots on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Pointers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

While Point Loma had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Christian can attribute much of their success to McKade Mathson, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Point Loma's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Loma will host Maranatha Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Pointers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christian, they will welcome Crawford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
