Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Fisher Catholic

Fisher Catholic won the last time they faced Wellington School and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Irish blew past the Jaguars 18-1. The Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Olivia Haynes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Mallory Stanton was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Vanessa Funk, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Fisher Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .696. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fisher Catholic's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wellington School, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
