Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Gaither Cowboys. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Cowboys recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Jefferson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakeria Beckwith, who went 5 of 7 en route to 12 points. The dominant performance gave Beckwith a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Harmonie Charles, who posted 13 points.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Gaither, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-26 win against Strawberry Crest on the 11th. As for Gaither, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-5 loss against Sumner on the 11th.
