Flag Football Recap: Leesville Road Falls Short Against Ranked Wakefield

Leesville Road faced Wakefield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Pride took a hard 19-0 fall against the Wolverines. The Pride have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wakefield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinn Pope, who threw for 159 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of her passes. 81 of Pope's passing yards were hauled in by Lyla Bagwell, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Leesville Road's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Wakefield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Coincidentally, Leesville Road and Wakefield will both be playing Corinth Holders the next time they take the field. The Wolverines will host the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Pride will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
