Football Game Preview: Trinity Shamrocks vs. Schuylkill Valley Panthers

The Trinity Shamrocks will face off against the Schuylkill Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity's defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so Schuylkill Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Trinity is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Middletown 28-27. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Shamrocks were the better team in the second half.

A big part of Trinity's win came down to the chemistry between Mason Boyer and his top target Maddox Jarzynski. Boyer threw for 223 yards and a pair of TDs while Jarzynski picked up 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Those 223 passing yards gave Boyer a new career-high. Trinity also got a significant boost from Brandon Harris, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Meanwhile, Schuylkill Valley was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 17-16 to Lancaster Catholic. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trinity's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.24 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.16 in the others. As for Schuylkill Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Trinity came out on top in a nail-biter against Schuylkill Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, sneaking past 20-17. Do the Shamrocks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
