Baseball Recap: Delphi Community Comes Up Short

Delphi Community had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-4 to make it five. They lost 15-1 to the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Oracles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hunter Wandrei made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

As for Kouts, their record now sits at 6-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.

On Kouts' side, Billy Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Miller has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Kouts got a massive performance out of Collin Breitzke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Garrett, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

While Delphi Community had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
