Softball Recap: Buchanan Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Buchanan's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clovis East Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Timberwolves earlier this season, when they won 14-3.

Brooklyn Ainsworth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Buchanan and nudges their season record down to 20-9. As for Clovis East, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7-1.

Looking ahead, Buchanan will welcome Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.3, the Golden Hawks 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Clovis East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
