Basketball Game Preview: Scotus Shamrocks vs. Pierce Bluejays

Scotus and Pierce are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Scotus Shamrocks will welcome the Pierce Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (Scotus has five wins , while Pierce has three).

If Scotus beats Pierce with 63 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Scotus blew past Concordia 63-40 on Tuesday. The Shamrocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Pierce duked it out withO'Neill on Tuesday. Pierce walked away with a 43-30 win over O'Neill.

Scotus' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Pierce, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Scotus strolled past Pierce in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 43-29. Will Scotus repeat their success, or does Pierce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
