Softball Recap: Brady Bulldogs vs. Comfort Bobcats/Deer

Brady fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Comfort on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats/Deer by a score of 11-10. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats/Deer recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Layla Virdell put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Virdell was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Virdell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Raegan Fletcher, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Brady's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Comfort, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-12.

Brady wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Ingram Moore on the 24th. As for Comfort, they have also already played their next matchup, a 24-2 defeat against Florence on the 24th.
