Basketball Recap: Elmwood Takes a Loss

Elmwood played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 67-22 loss at the hands of the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Leading Patrick Henry to victory were Kasey Nelson and Carys Crossland. Nelson went 7 for 14 on her way to 21 points, while Crossland went 7 of 15 en route to 19 points. What's more, Nelson also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ada Christman, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

Elmwood's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Patrick Henry, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.

Elmwood will challenge Vanlue at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Patrick Henry, they will take on Wauseon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Patrick Henry is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
