Recap: Ada Cougars vs. Charles Page Sandites
It was a good run, but the Ada Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-35 to Charles Page. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Ada has scored all season.
Loss or not, Ada got some senior leadership from Carter Colombe who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and Devon Maccollister who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Cook, who scored six points along with two steals.
Charles Page got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Deke Thompson out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Thompson hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Kason Evans was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Ada's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Charles Page, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ada and Seminole will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Seminole's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Charles Page, they will head out on the road to take on Bartlesville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartlesville is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
