Basketball Recap: South Lenoir Starts Season with Defeat at Home

South Lenoir unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 55-33 to the North Lenoir Hawks on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Lenoir to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ta'Sheena Lynch, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Lynch a new career-high in steals (six). Myracle Samples was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

South Lenoir didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-27 defeat against Dixon on the 25th. As for North Lenoir, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-37 loss against Greene Central on the 25th.
