Recap: Wildwood Wildcats vs. Halifax Academy Knights
The Wildwood Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Halifax Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Wildwood saw an underclassman step up: Zayden Garcia scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Louis Brown, who scored 19 points.
Wildwood has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Halifax Academy, their win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Wildwood will look to defend their home court on Friday against Leesburg at 7:30 p.m. Leesburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 322 points over their last five games. Halifax Academy on the road again on Friday and play against Legacy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
