Baseball Game Preview: Lansdale Catholic Crusaders vs. Cardinal O'Hara Lions

The Lansdale Catholic Crusaders will face off against the Cardinal O'Hara Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lansdale Catholic is looking for their season's first win.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lansdale Catholic's offense. They lost 8-0 to Archbishop Wood on Thursday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cardinal O'Hara and St. Joseph's Prep meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Lions took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Adam Schreiber was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Jason Coury was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jack Coleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cardinal O'Hara's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Lansdale Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Lansdale Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Cardinal O'Hara in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
