Baseball Recap: West Mifflin Find Success

West Mifflin came out on top against Laurel Highlands on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Titans walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Mustangs. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Derek Tudek, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Maggio, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

West Mifflin's record is now 12-3. As for Laurel Highlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Mifflin will welcome Elizabeth Forward at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Laurel Highlands, they will host Ligonier Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
