Baseball Recap: Ithaca Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Louis

Ithaca had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the St. Louis Sharks as they made off with a 20-3 victory. The Yellowjackets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ryley White made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five runs, two stolen bases, and three doubles. Those five runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Colton Pratt was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Ithaca: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hull, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Ithaca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Ithaca back to even at 9-9. As for St. Louis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
