Basketball Game Preview: Fern Creek Tigers vs. Southern Trojans

Fern Creek is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, Southern a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The Fern Creek Tigers will welcome the Southern Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Fern Creek is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against LKY on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fern Creek was outmatched by LKY and fell 65-14. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-4.

Meanwhile, Southern suffered their closest loss since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Brown by a score of 40-37.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Fern Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Fern Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Southern in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win. Will Fern Creek repeat their success, or does Southern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
