Volleyball Recap: South Cobb Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

South Cobb waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Douglas County Tigers. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day South Cobb got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-27, 15-8.

Samira Washington paced South Cobb's offense, picking up five kills. Washington got some help from Nicolette Sweat and her 15 assists. McKenzi Mack controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

South Cobb's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Cobb will venture away from home to challenge New Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Douglas County, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against East Paulding at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
