Softball Recap: Birmingham Patriots vs. Carson Colts        
        
		
            
 It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Birmingham can now relate to. They fell  5-1 to the Carson Colts on Tuesday. The  loss   continues a  trend for Birmingham in their matchups with Carson: they've now lost six in a row.
  Rebecca Lozano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in 15 consecutive pitching appearances.
 On Carson's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in:  Giselle Pantoja gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
 At the plate,  Alana Langford was  excellent,  going 1-for-2 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Ruby Grajeda, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Birmingham's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Carson, the  victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-7-2.
 Birmingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carson, they will face off against Granada Hills Charter at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Granada Hills Charter is coming into the  game with six straight  wins on the road,  so Carson will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum.
