Evergreen has gone a perfect 3-0 against Pomona recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cougars will welcome the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. The matchup will give Evergreen their first taste of in-conference action this season.
Evergreen's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Thomas Jefferson with a sharp 6-0 victory. The game marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season so far.

Not much got past Brody March, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Thomas Jefferson off the board. With that strong performance, March is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Griffin Gonsman was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Pomona came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Greenway by a score of 8-4 two weeks ago.
Maddux Najera made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other pitching news, Tyler Dempsey looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Pomona: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-3 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Gage Douglas, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Riley Biesk was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Pomona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory got Evergreen back to even at 3-3-1. As for Pomona, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
Everything went Evergreen's way against Pomona in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Evergreen made off with an 11-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
