Basketball Game Preview: Blackford Bruins vs. South Adams Starfires

Having just played yesterday, the Blackford Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the South Adams Starfires at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blackford will be strutting in after a victory while South Adams will be coming in after a loss.

On Friday, Blackford didn't have too much trouble with Madison-Grant as they won 57-43.

Meanwhile, South Adams scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 59-43 fall against Northfield. The Starfires just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Blackford will need focus on slowing down Henry Craig, one of several South Adams players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave Craig a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Scott, who earned nine points and five steals.

Even though they lost, South Adams was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

South Adams' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Blackford, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Everything came up roses for Blackford against South Adams when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 65-27 victory. In that matchup, Blackford amassed a halftime lead of 32-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
