Volleyball Recap: Genoa Area Has No Trouble Against Toledo Christian

Genoa Area's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Toledo Christian Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Genoa Area not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Toledo Christian between 16 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

Genoa Area can attribute much of their success to Mya Colvin, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Colvin a new career-high.

Colvin wasn't the only good servers: Genoa Area was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. The Comets are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Genoa Area's win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Toledo Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.
