Mathis won the last time they faced Aransas Pass and things went their way on Friday too. The Pirates walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

The team relied heavily on Audrey Salinas, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Marivel Martinez, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Mathis' win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Aransas Pass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mathis will take on rival Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Aransas Pass is set to face off against their familiar foe West Oso at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
