Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 62-14 loss at the hands of the Sullivan Redskins. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Redskins are ranked 140th).

Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Sullivan, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 27-3.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon will head out on the road to face off against Urbana University at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Urbana University has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Sullivan, they will face off against Warrensburg-Latham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
