Basketball Recap: Maddox Belino Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Sachse had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 25-point drubbing they dealt Rowlett on Friday. The Sachse Mustangs put the hurt on the Rowlett Eagles with a sharp 76-51 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mustangs just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sachse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddox Belino, who posted 13 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Belino a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Young, who earned 13 points.

Sachse was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rowlett only racked up eight assists.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cadarian Urune, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Mcmanigell, who put up nine points.

Sachse has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Rowlett, they dropped their record down to 8-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Sachse and Rowlett should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Sachse (ranked 432nd) will meet Garland (ranked 1233rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sachse is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Rowlett (ranked 461st) will meet South Garland (ranked 977th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
