Basketball Recap: Augusta Southeastern's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hamilton/Warsaw, Augusta Southeastern was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 63-53 win over the West Prairie Cyclones. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Suns as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

West Prairie lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braden Coplan, who went 11 for 21 en route to 32 points. Another player making a difference was Eli DeCounter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Augusta Southeastern's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for West Prairie, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Augusta Southeastern will venture away from home to challenge Barry Western at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Prairie, they will welcome Bushnell-Prairie City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
