Soccer Recap: Bartram Trail Falls Short Against Ranked Ponte Vedra

On Monday, Bartram Trail faced Ponte Vedra in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bartram Trail Bears fell just short of the Ponte Vedra Sharks by a score of 3-2. That makes it the first time this season the Bears have let down their home crowd.

Dominic Cassanova and Michael Russell scored both of Bartram Trail's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bartram Trail fell to 6-1-1. As for Ponte Vedra, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Bartram Trail wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 2-2 draw against Beachside on the 10th. As for Ponte Vedra, they will head out on the road to take on Clay at 7:20 p.m. on December 17th. Clay will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Ponte Vedra surely won't give up without a fight.
