Baseball Recap: Valley Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valley Christian waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Buckingham Charter Knights. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Jeremiah Pritchard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Jack Grexton looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

Back at the plate, Tyler Snow was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Domminic Eyster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buckingham Charter only posted an OBP of .208.

Valley Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Buckingham Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Valley Christian will square off against Delta Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buckingham Charter will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' matchup: after the Lions faces off against the Dragons, they'll take on Buckingham Charter again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
