Basketball Game Preview: Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights vs. Manchester Blue Devils

The Elite Scholars Academy Royal Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Manchester Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elite Scholars Academy has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 10.

On Friday, Elite Scholars Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Lake Oconee Academy.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manchester). They strolled past Southwest Atlanta Christian with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 82-67. The Blue Devils' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Elite Scholars Academy better focus on containing Dre Mcghee and Trey Jones as the pair were huge in Manchester's win. Mcghee went 9 for 16 on his way to 27 points and four steals, while Jones went 10 of 14 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. With that strong performance, Mcghee is now averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedyn Terry, who posted ten points.

Manchester was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Manchester pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Elite Scholars Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
