Baseball Game Preview: Salem Sundevils vs. Cox Falcons

Salem is 0-10 against Cox since March of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sundevils are taking a road trip to challenge the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. Salem has given up an average of 11.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Kempsville hit Salem with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sundevils came up short against the Chiefs, falling 13-2.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Cox took on Landstown on Friday. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Eagles 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Cox's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Salem suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Cox when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Sundevils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
