Volleyball Recap: Vail Christian Saints vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars
Vail Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the D'Evelyn Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 20-25, 25-14.
Luis Rico paced Vail Christian's offense, picking up eight kills. Rico got some help from Daniel Parez and his 24 assists. Finally, Ian Salyer kept Vail Christian's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.
Jake McFaul was a one-man wrecking crew For D'Evelyn. as he had 21 digs and three assists. McFaul is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last four games he's played.
Vail Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for D'Evelyn, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Vail Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Aurora West College Prep Academy on the 16th.
